Prudent Warnings:
Anyone with sensitive skin or known allergies to ammonia, sulfur, or latex should avoid using Liquid Latex.
Since ammonia is used in the compound, anyone sensitive to ammonia or anyone with known skin or respiratory allergies should not use Fantasy Liquid Latex.
Anyone with known latex allergies should not used cured or uncured latex against the skin. If a rash appears, simply remove the latex, wash with soap and water, and don't use on the skin again. In today's environment, there are few adults who have not had contact with a latex glove or condom. If you didn't have a reaction to using these items, the odds are great that you'll have no problem using our products.
Liquid Latex will bond to body hair. Read the following section on hair, and don't say we didn't warn you!
Unlike paints, Liquid Latex has no petroleum products. Liquid Latex will not clog pores nor prevent perspiration from forming. The perspiration and natural oils in your skin lift the Liquid Latex and it will readily peel off normal skin. It will lift off the skin by itself after several hours, or it can be cleanly peeled off as soon as it's dried.
Ouch- Watch That Hair!
It is recommended that any part of the body to be dipped or covered is free of hair first. In a recent photo session using Liquid Latex, a guy who appeared to have virtually no body hair discovered that he had very fine colorless hair on his back, which made removal of the latex a tad more difficult.
It is best to shave before applying liquid latex to the skin. The second secret is to apply a coating of any good non petroleum oil based moisturizing lotion to your skin just before applying the Liquid Latex. This skin prep will help ensure a fun Liquid Latex experience.
A technique which has been used to remove the latex involves coating the surface with soap or shampoo and using a comb to nudge the latex out of the hair. This works very well and is painless. If you are into pain and love wax jobs, then simply pull off the Latex and the hair. If you do the face with liquid latex, be careful of the eyes and vent the ammonia first. Brush the eyebrows with a light vegetable oil to keep Liquid Latex off the hair.
If in doubt, shave it. Unless, of course, that special someone is in need of special corrective actions.
Apply a liberal coating of any good non petroleum oil based moisturizing lotion just before applying the Liquid Latex.
Don't worry too much about the ammonia fumes. We found that the fumes were very mild and dissipated rapidly once the product was applied. If your playroom is cramped or small, open your jar of Liquid Latex outside and let it vent for 5-10 minutes.
A hair blow dryer will dramatically speed the curing of Liquid Latex. Very handy if playing with multiple coats.
One unpublicized benefit? I found that after removing the dried Liquid Latex, the skin was left silky smooth, and all the pores had been cleansed.
For those into waxing, a jar of Fantasy Liquid Latex makes an interesting replacement.
It's OK to dip it, but if you didn't shave it first, don't email us and tell us we didn't warn you !
